Our 20 foot Christmas Log and Mayor Annise Parker
Dear Friends,
Houston’s Mayor Annise Parker, with the French Consul Frédéric Bontems, were invited at the Alliance Française to taste the 20 foot long (6 meters) Christmas Log that Chef Fabrice specially made for the event.
It was a successful event and we are proud that Maraine Delice grows more every day, thanks to all of you.

“Galettes des Rois” available for January !
The Galette des Rois is a cake that celebrates the ‘’Epiphany’’ in January every year. This is one of the most popular eating traditions in France. A “fève” is hidden in the galette before baking. The youngest guest, hidden under the table, decides of the distribution of the slices. The lucky guest who gets the fève is crowned king (or queen) with a paper crown and chooses his queen (or king) among the other guests. He also has to offer the next galette des Rois.

French music festival
We will be at the Alliance Française for la Fête de la musique !
The Cultural Services of the Consulat Général de France à Houston and the French Alliance invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 21 from 6-9 pm as we celebrate the uniquely French event-la fête de la musique. On this day in France, the longest of the year, there is music in the streets, and in every imaginable venue.
Here in Houston at the Alliance Française, (427 Lovett Blvd. 77006) ourfree event will pay hommage to this tradition, featuring a duo from TheApollo Chamber Players performingdes morceaux français, jazz from the Raphael Gadot Trio, and popular French music from Frédéric Houville and Arnaud Chevallier, as well as efforts by all kinds of professional and amateur musicians! We’ll also offer a delicious French buffet featuring cheeses, wines, and delicacies from Fabrice Maraine of Maraine Délice!
